Lingerie Definitions
Babydoll |
A Babydoll is a very short sleeveless gown with hems just below the hip. A babydoll typically has formed cups that may be underwired. Many styles have “boob out” cups. Babydolls are a great style of lingerie as they are loose fitting and usually come with a matching G-string, thong or panty. View Babydolls |
Bustier |
A Bustier is a bra that extends to the waist. This formfitting sleeveless and usually strapless top provides a more shapely look to the bustline and the waist. Often worn with garters and stockings. Purchase a bustier based upon the woman’s bra size. View Bustiers |
Costumes |
Costumes come in sets that include various accessories such as hats, capes, g-strings, garters and gloves. View Costumes |
Garter Belt |
A Garter Belt is a belt worn around the waist with straps (garters) that attach to stockings to keep them from falling down. Garter belts are usually adjustable to fit different waist sizes. Garters are elastic straps with hook attachments. They are often worn for “sex appeal” and not necessarily for their function. Garters can be attached to a garter belt or to a bustier. |
Hosiery |
Hose, or stockings, cover from mid thigh to the toes. Styles include plain, fishnet, or lace-topped. Many styles require garters to help them stay up, while some “thigh huggers” do not require garters. |
Panty |
Panties are women’s underwear that come in many styles. A Thong panty has a small strip of material in the back which leaves the buttocks exposed. Thongs leave no panty lines and are an alternative to wearing no panty. A G-String has a small triangular front and thin elastic straps at the sides and back. A Bikini rides below the belly button and has minimal back coverage. View Panties |
Teddy |
A Teddy, or Teddie, is a close fitting one-piece outfit with high cut legs and often a thong back. A Teddy is a strapless bathing suit type garment which does not have garters. View Teddies |
